Description
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor which affects B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, and hybridoma cells. It also affects cytotoxic T cells in combination with other factors such as IL-2 and interferon- γ . Human IL-6 is a 20.5 kD protein containing 184 amino acid residues. The BD OptEIA™ ELISA Kit II format was developed for superior accuracy with serum and plasma specimens. The data that demonstrates this enhancement can be located in the Performance “Recovery” and “Linearity” sections. The BD OptEIA Human IL-6 ELISA Kit II is for the quantitative determination of human IL-6 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant.

Preparation And Storage
Store unopened reagents at 2-8°C. do not use reagents after expiration date, or if turbidity is evident. Before use, bring all reagents to room temperature (18-25°C). Immediately after use, return to proper storage conditions. Lyophilized standards are stable until expiration date. After reconstitution, immediately aliquot standard stock in polypropylene vials at 50 µl per vial anf freeze at -80°C for up to 6 months. If necessary, store at 2-8°C for up to 8 hours prior to aliquotting/freezing. Do not leave reconstituted standard at room temperature.
