Course Overview
This course provides you with advanced topics and techniques for cell sorting with a BD cell sorter. In this course, you will learn how to define effective sorting criteria for various samples, including large cells, rare events, and small particles. You will apply the principles you learned to improve stream stability while using a custom sheath pressure. Additionally, you will learn to use Poisson statistics to calculate the projected sort rate, efficiency, and sort time for a given population.
Course Details
This course blends advanced-topic lectures, and group discussions, with plenty of hands-on time to practice what you have learned. Continue your journey beyond basic operator training with additional skills to help you improve your sort results from sample preparation to recovery.
Target audience: Sort operators who have completed training for any of the BD FACSAria™ or the BD FACSAria™ Fusion Cell Sorters, or who have experience setting up a BD FACSAria™ or BD FACSymphony™ S6 Cell Sorter with minimal assistance.
Prerequisites: You will be expected to perform basic sorting tasks with minimal assistance during the hands-on portion of the course.
